We try to keep our ecological footprint for the conference as small as possible. Here are some of the things we do to make this a more sustainable event.
We all got to stay hydrated! But to reduce the amount of waste at the conference, everyone will get a glass water bottle at registration. These last longer than plastic bottles and you can refill them whenever you like. Keep them afterwards! If you want, you can also bring your own bottle from home.
Aside from water we’ll provide delicious fruit juice from Mohr Sederl. These are produced on a local orchard and are 100% organic. Coffee will also be available from viennese master coffee roasters Naber.
The lunchbreak will be at Badeschiff Wien, a floating restaurant right next to the venue. Badeschiff is a good place for our lunch since it’s conveniently located, wheelchair accessible, serves delicious food and cares about sustainability. It won the Austrian inclusivity award last year for its Special Gastronomics program.
There will be syrian and somali dishes fit for vegetarian and vegan diets, and we will make sure that any leftover food does not go to waste. And as a special surprise, there will be three curling lanes for you to enjoy after stuffing your faces!
We’re still taking care of some other aspects like snacks etc. for the conference day. We’ll keep you posted!
